Leadership and Networking
Through the Chamber’s various Leadership Programs and Networking Events it is our mission to provide a forum for our diverse group of members to network, increase their community visibility and provide opportunities to share business ideas and experiences. The Chamber helps business owners and professionals develop relationships to help grow their business through our structured networking events which help enhance their visibility, raise awareness of their business, and strengthen their business development skills. All members of the Chamber and member businesses’ employees are invited to participate in the Chamber’s Leadership and Networking programs. Leadership and Networking Opportunities:
Leadership Limestone Program
Leadership Limestone is the Chambers’ Leadership program for professionals in the community. This program helps to introduce existing and future leaders to the vast resources of our community. Leadership Limestone covers an in-depth view of community issues, provides an opportunity to meet and discuss issues with key community leaders, and develops leadership skills to help participants assume leadership roles within the community. Leadership Limestone helps to identify and develop existing and emerging leaders with the goal of enhancing positive growth in the community.
Chamber Youth Leadership Program, presented by:
The Chamber Youth Leadership Program, presented by Regions Bank, is open to Sophomore and Junior students from Athens City Schools, Limestone County Schools, and area private schools. This program is designed to build leadership skills and help students develop an awareness of community needs, to challenge them to become engaged citizens, and help prepare them to serve in leadership positions in our community. The Youth Leadership program covers topics in Team Building, Community Services, Health Care, Local & State Government, Cultural Arts, Business & Industry, and Agriculture. Youth Leadership students are chosen through an application and interview process and participation is based upon academic performance, school activities and community involvement.
On the third Tuesday of each month, the Chamber holds a traditional networking event called the Chamber Coffee. Each Coffee is hosted by a different Chamber member at their business location. Chamber Coffees begin at 9:00 a.m. and last approximately one hour. Each Coffee begins with networking with other attendees followed by a brief meeting that includes: new member/guest introductions, Chamber announcements, and updates from Chamber members with announcements from their business/organization.
New Member Reception
Chamber New Member Receptions are held periodically as needed to welcome new Chamber members. At each New Member Reception, Chamber member benefits are reviewed to help new members best utilize their membership to the fullest extent.
Business After Hours
Each quarter, the Chamber holds a casual, friendly networking event called Business After Hours. Each After Hours event is hosted by a different Chamber member at their business location. This event is from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Each After Hours event begins with networking with other attendees followed by a brief meeting that includes: new member/guest introductions, Chamber announcements, and updates from Chamber members with announcements from their business/organization.
Each quarter, the Chamber organizes Industrial Tours for Chamber Membership providing an opportunity for members to visit with existing industries in Limestone County and North Alabama.
